Original Penguin (also known simply as Penguin) is an American lifestyle brand with roots in the 1950’s and 60’s. They specialise in clothing, footwear and eyewear for men, women and kids. In 1954 a salesmen brought a fluffy stuffed penguin to a meeting where a logo for the new idea in golf shirts to combat Lacoste’s popular shirts was the subject at hand and the new logo was immediately adopted.

Penguin shirts were worn by Bob Hope and Bing Crosby and advertised by the likes of golfer Arnold Palmer. The golf shirt became a symbol in suburban leisure until well into the 1980s and the brand has continued to expand its collection ever since with current celebrities such as Brad Pitt and Adam Brody seen wearing the clothing.
